Hale 11, 12, and 13

Hale 11, 12, and 13 have the same structure and room layouts.

Hale 11, 12, and 13 are currently under construction. Hale 11 is expected to open by the end of 2024.

Unit Types

There are two types of units: Hybrid or Apartment Plus.
  • Hybrid-style units are considered a step between dorm and apartment-style units. They have a small kitchenette with no oven or stovetop. This area is not designed for large-scale cooking, but rather simple food preparation as needed. Therefore, it has a standard-sized refrigerator, sink, small countertop, and microwave. (There are approximately 290 hybrid bed spaces in each building.)

    Shared or Single: Shared rooms. Limited Single Rooms are available.

    Room Occupancy: Two people per room, five to six people per unit.

    Bathroom: 2 in-unit bathrooms shared with unit mates

    Kitchen: Kitchenette shared with unit mates. Standard-sized refrigerator, sink, and microwave.

    Shared Furnishings: Dining set

    Bedroom Furnishings: Each space includes a ceiling fan, a twin-size bed, a wardrobe, and a desk.

    Laundry: In-unit washer and dryer

    Internet: Free internet access is provided in each room.

    Ward Information: Find out which ward you belong to.

  • Apartment Plus units have a full kitchen, with dining and living room areas. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, stovetop, sink, large counter, microwave, and standard-sized refrigerator. (There are approximately 12 apartment plus bed spaces in each building.)

    Shared or Single: Shared rooms

    Room Occupancy: Two people per room, four people per unit.

    Bathroom: One in-unit bathroom shared with unit mates.

    Kitchen: Kitchen shared with unit mates. Standard-sized refrigerator, oven, stovetop, sink, and microwave.

    Bedroom Furnishings: Each space includes a ceiling fan, a twin-size bed, a wardrobe, and a desk.

Small Personal Appliances

Storage and counter space are very limited. Residents should coordinate appliances with their unit mates. Small appliances must be electric-powered. They should be unplugged and stored when not in use.

Prohibited items will be subject to the Confiscation Policy, outlined in the Hale handbook.
Prohibited items, including, but not limited to:

  • Any item with an open flame
  • Propane or gas-powered items
  • Mini Refrigerators
  • Electric cooktop
  • Toaster Ovens

Residents will be responsible for injury or property damage resulting from any personal appliances. Any damage to university property incurred by personal appliances will result in charges assessed by the university.
